Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream ~ Natural Glow Review

Ok ladies so we've all heard of BB creams right?
Well the new generation of multitasking creams is here ~ the CC (colour correcting) cream!

To be honest I've never really bought into the whole 'BB' cream thing, I have one ~ Cliniques BB cream, which I purchased pre natural make up transition, simply because it is pale enough for my skin,  but to me it is just a tinted moisturiser but with a high SPF 30!

So you might ask why am I now buying a CC cream?

Well truthfully for the same reason really I want to swap out my Clinique BB cream for a natural alternative but as I have pale skin that burns in no time in the sun I need one with SPF 30, at least!

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream SPF 30 fitted the bill, it's made with certified organic ingredients and it's SPF is chemical free and not tested on animals.

Ingredients ~
Active Ingredient: Zinc Oxide 20%

This cream claims to be a 12 in 1 colour correcting multi tasker

  • Repairs DNA damage
  • Evens skin tone & texture
  • Firms & improves elasticity
  • Reduces fine lines & wrinkles
  • Creates a radiant, glowing complexion
  • Balances skin tone
  • Rich in antioxidants
  • Protects with chemical free SPF 30 ·
  •  Mineral tinted coverage
  • Ultimate moisturiser
  • Skin perfecting colour
  • Great for all skin types
This is a pretty tall order I think for a cream and I am totally ignoring the fact that it claims to repair DNA as this is impossible for the consumer to test out by just applying it at home.

I managed to get a 5ml sample of this cream to try in Natural Glow, which is for Fair to Medium skin tones.
I got four days worth of applications out of this tube.

The colour shade was great for my pale skin, however it hardly gave any coverage on my skin at all, certainly alot less than a tinted moisturiser would.  It did even out my skin tone quite well, and reduced the redness in my cheeks a little. Personally I would say it is just providing enough cover to be ever so slightly better than bare skin.

One thing I did notice was it has a very odd smell, I can't really describe it other than odd, luckily this doesn't linger on the skin though.

Natural Daylight ~ blended out onto skin.

I would never use this type of cream instead of my normal daily moisturiser, I just use it on top of my usual skincare.
The cream applied very easily and blended out well and didn't look chalky as some mineral sunscreens can. It did feel slightly sticky on first application but it soon settled down and absorbed well. After the initial stickiness had gone my skin was left feeling soft and smooth with an amazingly radiant finish.
I really liked the glow it gave my skin, it certainly gave it some 'life'!,  however if you have oily skin you probably won't like this.

I have worn this both on naked skin and under foundation.  My favourite way is under foundation, it really brightens up the skin and gives just a subtle, but noticeable,  illumination that really shows through the foundation.

Other than it's strange smell, I am really impressed with this cream, although it isn't quite what I had in mind when I first bought it, as it isn't a suitable replacement for my Clinique BB cream, as it gives little to no coverage!

I do however love the illumination it gives my skin under foundation and the fact it is SPF 30, this will be fabulous to use during the summer and I will be happy in the knowledge my skin is protected even though I'm wearing make up, as I do find it difficult to find a suitable suncream that foundation will sit on top of properly.

As I've only used this for 4 days I can't really comment on it's claims to improve skin elasticity and reduce wrinkles.  You would really need to use this for several weeks on a daily basis to judge if there was any improvement in those areas for you.

I will be investing in a full sized tube of this for summer, I'm looking at this cream primarily as a natural suncream with the added bonus of having beautiful botanical ingredients and skincare benefits.

It is pricey at £39 for 1.7oz (50ml) and there are certainly cheaper alternatives out there if you just want a SPF 30 face cream, but for me the combination of it being a natural product, high SPF, giving superb radiance, and it's potentially skin improving benefits makes it worth giving it a go in the full size.

I have sensitive, slightly combination but heading more towards dry skin and I had no problems with this cream, however please check the ingredients and patch test before use.

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream can be bought from Naturismo.com here
in the full size tube or as a 5ml sample for £3.95 here

I am really interested in Juice Beauty as a brand, I did try a sample of their Stem Cellular Eye Repair Cream last year which I really liked too.

What do you think to the brand, have you tried any of their other products?

  1. I love the look of this cream but I don't think it would be enough coverage for me, I might buy some to try under my mineral powder though. Great in depth review as always. xxx

  2. Hi Jen,

Great review. I'm so pleased this suited you well. I've been using this everyday since it launched on Naturisimo.com in February. I got it in Natural Glow, unfortunately it just doesn't work for me. I'm rather disappointed with this, as with you it doesn't provide me with any coverage and although it feels quite rich after application it feels drying. I love the fact it contains SPF30 by using 20% non nano zinc oxide but that's the only advantage I found of using this CC cream. Also if I put it anywhere near the eye area my eyes smart so I have to use a separate SPF product around my eye area. You can read my review of it here http://www.holisticgreenbeauty.com/2013/03/juice-beauty-stem-cellular-repair-cc.html

It will be interesting to see how you get on with it when you purchase full size. It's such a shame this didn't work for me as I think Juice Beauty is a great anti ageing line. I'm really happy that you got on with it as it seems like a good product but just not for me.

  3. I don't buy the whole BB/CC cream spiel, I think it's a load of rubbish to be honest and nothing more than glorified tinted moisturiser. Haven't tried any CC creams yet but love that this adds radiance to the skin, pity it doesn't offer much coverage though.
