Happy Christmas everyone!
I hope you all had a fabulous day yesterday with family and friends and had some beauty goodies waiting for you from Santa, under the tree.
For the first time this year, I took part in The Green Christmas Beauty Swap, arranged by Ria from NatuRia Beauty Blog and Tania from Bow Tied Beauty Blog.
Once everyone had signed up, Ria & Tania paired us all up with our 'beauty partner', then it was up to us to chat via email and twitter as to what we each liked, or didn't and to set a budget for our gift exchange.
Once this was decided, all that was left to do was start shopping and wrapping!
I offered to do two swop's if there was an odd number of participants, and as there was, I was lucky enough to be paired with two gorgeous ladies ~ Helena from My Perfect Red Blog and Carrie from Carrie Jackson Make Up Artist Blog
I was very good and saved both gifts till Christmas Day to open!
Lets see what I received!
~ Helena's Gift ~
Helena's gift came with a hilarious Christmas card and was beautifully wrapped and I couldn't wait to get it open!
I was absolutely thrilled with what she had sent, a Apivita Aqua Vita 24hr Moisturising Cream -Gel for oily combination skin.
I'm sure Helena must have read my mind! I love anything to do with bees and honey, I am an avid gardener and passionate about bee preservation.
I have just started to use Apivita products and am currently using their Honey & Almond shampoo & hair mask and had made a mental note to try out more from them so this couldn't have been a more perfect gift.
I haven't tried this yet, as I have two large pots of moisturiser on the go at the moment, but as soon as they are finished this will be next!
~ Carrie's Gift ~
Carrie's gift came beautifully boxed as well, just like a big beauty box! I have to admit I did give this one a good shake to see if I could decipher what was in it ! I couldn't!
Inside was a wonderful hand written note, tied with ribbon and wrapped in tissue. It seemed such a shame to spoil it, but I wanted to see what was inside so I forced myself!!
Carefully placed inside was four gorgeous products!
Again, Carrie chose perfectly for me, a selection of skincare and make up.
I'm pretty sure both Carrie & Helena have some sort of crystal ball between them!
Three of the brands I am familiar with and love and the fourth I'd never heard of before, so am looking foreward to trying it out!
Lavera Basis Sensitive Cleansing Gel 125ml, I love Lavera products, I've never had a bad one yet, but have never tried this cleanser before. It got put to good use straight away on Christmas morning and I am absolutely loving it!
I used it again in the evening to take my make up off and this morning too!
Smells lovely and leaves my skin feeling so soft, not stripped!
This will be a repurchase product for me!
Chain Bridge Honey Farm Honey & Beeswax Lip Balm.
If you read my blog you will know I rate Chain Bridge Honey Farm skincare products their Honey & Beeswax Chamomile Ointment has a permanent place in my 'emergency skincare arsenal' for burns and minor cuts so I was thrilled to get a lip balm.
Firstly, I have a lip balm fetish so this has satisfied it...... for now anyway! and secondly my honey and bee obsession has also been appeased, for me the 'more the merrier' where honey skincare products are concerned!
Lily Lolo Mineral Eyeshadow Duo in Chic Nudes
This duo is perfect for me, if I had chosen myself this would have been what I would have picked!
I have a Lily Lilo Blush and Lip Gloss, and love them both but have never had a eyeshadow so I can't wait to try this out!
The last product is from a new brand to me, Just Be Natural.
It's a bottle of Rejuvenate Facial Oil.
It smells divine and I am really looking forward to using this.
I love to use oils on my skin, and this one will be my night time oil after Christmas and the New Year, when my skin will no doubt need some perking up after all the alcohol, cake, chocolate and other rubbish I have been eating!
Even the empty box has been claimed by Meg, who tried very hard for quite some time to fit herself inside it, until finally realising she is just too big and fluffy to fit!
In the end just sitting next to it was the better option!
The pink ribbon also has caused no end of amusement for both kitties Meg & Molly!
What is it with cats & boxes?? !!
I have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this swap and hope both Carrie & Helena have too, not only for the amazing products I received, but perhaps more importantly I have had an introduction to two new fantastic blogs, and found two new blogging friends.
Thankyou both, my lovelies, for your wonderful gifts and your time and effort in choosing so perfectly, and thankyou to Ria & Tania for arranging the swap, for without them it would never have happened!
Love and hugs to you all
